A beautiful trio of cards just in!
Starting at the upper left, with the card received from Budapest, Hungary through Postcrossing. You can’t tell from the scan, but those wavy lines added behind the architecture reflect light, as do thin silver lines added to each of the structures. The card’s writer tells me that she shares my interest in sea life & aquariums, and that she loves manta rays. Me, too! If you’ve ever been swimming in the sea, and a manta ray shows itself–well, WHOA is the best way I can describe that experience!
Also through Postcrossing, from Cheboksary, Russia, comes that awesome dino card! The writer tells me her city is on the river Volga, the longest river in Europe. The card is so cool, I had to look up the name of the artist. It’s Alex Andreev, a Russian artist who has a lot of fascinating creations.
Beautiful stamps, too!
The bottom card comes my way from Ontario, California, through a swap-bot trade–though the beautiful (if injured) elephant seal pup pictured was actually in the Falkland Islands. I told the sender I love making frequent visits to the elephant seal rookery at Piedras Blancas, near San Simeon, California. The writer of this card actually put in the effort to inscribe a note of some length & substance, easily winning a swap-bot star rating for making this already-beautiful card an extra joy to receive.
