A month ago, I went on a rant about a Postcrosser I was assigned, because she had absolutely no profile, no point of connection.
Well, of course I sent her a card anyhow, and this morning I woke up to a Postcrossing “Hurray” message:
Now, following that mileage information, there is almost always the notation, “(So & so) wrote you a message:”
NOT THIS TIME.
This person has sent over 6,500 postcards; has received the same–and cannot be bothered to do the bare minimum by way of adhering to the spirit of the project! I really regret sending her one of my favorite cards.
Apparently to her, this is all merely transactional (by which I mean, of course, quite the opposite of interpersonal). Open her closet, and you’ll be buried in an avalanche of… or maybe she sells them? What if you were to be assigned to her as a postcard recipient? I mean, what do you think she writes to a person?
