Let’s take a quick look at the four cards I mailed out yesterday through Postcrossing Forum tags! This one goes to Ylöjärvi, Finland, in a “food and drinks” tag:
It’s from a Malaysian book called The Food that Makes Us, full of wonderful stories of people and food, and there are recipes, too! When I ordered the book, it came with a set of postcards utilizing the illustrations found within. I told the recipient that this bread with chocolate looks delicious–but my first meal of the day would be Indian food.
This next card goes to Zhongshan, Guangdong, China. When I checked this Postcrosser’s profile to see what kind of card to send, and what to write about, I noticed she said that she doesn’t care too much about what kinds of cards she gets: “I mostly just like stamps.” Thus armed, I pulled out one of the collage cards I’ve made, using stamps received through Postcrossing! That stamp sheet from Ukraine did most of the work for me.
Garfield goes to a Garfield lover in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China…
…and this Pinocchio card was in the favorites of its recipient-to-be in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.
Time for stamps, stickers, & washi tape: First up, the back of the food postcard. You’ll see I stuck with the theme as much as possible.
And of course, on the back of the stamp postcard (middle row below), I used stamps.
